Dr. Barbara Green brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to her work with individuals and families. She considers her clinical work to be her life’s calling.
“As we unpack where you have been, where you are now and where you would like to be, a powerful shift often takes place,” says Dr. Green. “I feel truly privileged to witness this transformation.”
In her clinical practice, Dr. Green incorporates evidence-based strategies such as: cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, personal narrative therapy, interpersonal psychology and lifestyle management.
Over the course of her career, she has helped countless individuals to realize life goals and dreams, overcome personal challenges and crises, and improve both physical and emotional health.
“When you become your true, authentic self you reach a greater sense of peace, wellbeing and emotional honesty with yourself and others,” she says.
In her role as a community psychologist, Dr. Green is committed to eliminating the cultural stigma of mental health challenges with the goal of creating positive change in individuals and communities.
“I fervently believe that when we open the dialogue around mental health and overall wellness, and we teach the importance of a positive mindset, we can build healthier communities in which individuals can truly thrive,” she says.
To this end, Dr. Green has created a “Workplace Wellness” initiative, a presentation designed to bring wellness education to businesses and organizations.
For the past 28 years, Dr. Green served as the medical director of the Youth Health Connection, a risk prevention and resiliency building program of South Shore Health System, which provided free educational programming, trainings, resources, and opportunities for partnership in order to improve the overall health and wellbeing of youth in our communities.
